President approves additional debt of 2.6 billion kwanzas until the Budget comes into force

TO MEET FINANCING NEEDS

The President of the Republic approved an additional debt of 2.6 billion kwanzas until the entry into force of the 2023 State Budget, to meet the financing needs of projects already budgeted.

João Lourenço, in a presidential decree n.º 296/22 of 30 December, refers that while the General State Budget for 2023 is not approved by the National Assembly, the Minister of Finance is authorized to issue public debt securities, in the form of Treasury Bonds (OT), worth 2.6 billion kwanzas.

The revenue collected is intended to meet the financing needs of the 2023 General State Budget (OGE).

The OGE2023 proposal, which estimates revenues and sets expenditures of 20.1 billion kwanzas, was delivered to parliament on December 9, 2022 and should be approved in general in the first half of January.
